Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Chroniqal is a digital timecard application developed by Cynfi LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information Chroniqal collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
The short version: Chroniqal stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. We have no servers. We see nothing.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide: Clock-in and clock-out times you enter manually, worksite location addresses you configure, notes attached to time entries, hourly rate and pay settings, and notification and reminder preferences.
Information collected automatically: GPS coordinates — only when you enable GPS auto clock-in/clock-out. Coordinates are used solely to detect your proximity to configured work sites and are never stored beyond the moment of detection.
Information we do NOT collect: Your name, email address, account credentials, device identifiers, usage analytics, behavioral data, advertising identifiers, or any information from other apps on your device.
3. Location Data
Chroniqal requests access to your device location only when you enable the GPS auto clock-in/clock-out feature. This feature requires "Always Allow" location permission so the app can detect arrivals and departures even when running in the background.
Your device compares your GPS coordinates against the work location(s) you have configured. When a match is detected, a clock-in or clock-out event is recorded in your local timecard log. GPS coordinates are processed on your device and are never transmitted off your device.
We do not store raw GPS coordinates in your timecard log, transmit your location to any server, share your location with third parties, or use your location for advertising or analytics.
You may revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Chroniqal, or in Android Settings → Apps → Chroniqal → Permissions. Revoking location permission will disable GPS auto clock-in/clock-out but will not affect manual time entry.
4. Data Storage
All data generated by Chroniqal — including time entries, settings, work locations, and pay information — is stored exclusively on your device using secure local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share a report, is not backed up to Cynfi LLC servers (no such servers exist), and is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app.
Your data may be included in your device's cloud backup (iCloud on iOS, Google Backup on Android) if you have that feature enabled, subject to Apple's or Google's privacy policies.
5. Reports and Data Sharing
Chroniqal allows you to generate and share timecard reports in text and CSV format. These reports are shared only when you explicitly initiate the action by tapping "Email report" or "Save as text file." Cynfi LLC does not receive a copy of any report you generate.
6. In-App Purchases
Chroniqal offers a one-time in-app purchase ("Chroniqal Pro") processed entirely through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Cynfi LLC does not collect, process, or store any payment information. All payment transactions are handled by Apple or Google and are subject to their respective privacy policies.
7. Notifications
Chroniqal may send local notifications to your device for clock-in/clock-out confirmations, reminders, and report alerts. These notifications are generated locally on your device and are not routed through any external notification server operated by Cynfi LLC.
8. Support Requests
If you submit a support request through our website, we collect your name, email address, and message content, along with technical metadata automatically populated by the app (app name, version, build number, platform, OS version). This information is used solely to respond to your support request and is not shared with third parties.
9. Children's Privacy
Chroniqal is not directed at children under the age of 13. Because Chroniqal collects no personal information from any user, this policy applies equally to all users regardless of age.
10. Third-Party Services
Chroniqal does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only third-party interaction is Apple's App Store or Google Play for in-app purchase processing, which is governed by their own privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
Cynfi LLC may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Chroniqal after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
