1. Overview
OmniRef is a game clock for sports officials and clock operators, for Apple Watch and iPhone. It runs play clocks, shot clocks and timeouts, and signals the moments that matter with haptics on the watch and on-screen cues on the iPhone.
The short version: OmniRef collects nothing. It has no account, no advertising and no analytics, and it never connects to the internet. On Apple Watch it records each game you officiate as a workout in Apple Health, on your own devices; Cynfi LLC never receives that data or anything else.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide: None. OmniRef has no account, no sign-in and no registration. We never ask for your name, email address or any other detail in order to use the app.
Information collected automatically: None. OmniRef contains no analytics, no crash reporting that identifies you, no advertising identifiers and no third-party tracking.
Information we do NOT collect: Your location, your contacts, your health or fitness data (including the workouts OmniRef saves to Apple Health on your devices), your device's hardware identifiers, any advertising identifier, or anything about the games you officiate.
3. Workouts and Apple Health
On Apple Watch, OmniRef records each game you officiate as a workout, so the ground you cover counts the way any other workout does. The workout starts with the first clock of a game and ends when you choose End game, or on its own 80 minutes after the last clock. It is recorded as the sport's workout type (football, lacrosse or basketball), indoors or outdoors.
The first time you start a clock, OmniRef asks Health for permission to:
- Save workouts, with the heart rate, active energy (calories) and walking/running distance measured during them; and
- Read heart rate, active energy and distance, only to show you a summary when the game ends.
Distance is estimated from your movement. OmniRef never uses GPS or your location.
This data is written to Apple Health on your devices, where Apple's Health app manages it and you control it. OmniRef does not send it anywhere, and Cynfi LLC never receives, sees or stores it. You can review or delete OmniRef's workouts in the Health app, and change OmniRef's permissions at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices.
The running workout is also what keeps OmniRef's clock and haptics working with your wrist down. If you decline the permission, OmniRef still works as a clock, but records no workout and may stop running when you lower your wrist.
The iPhone app does not use Health and records nothing.
4. Data Storage
OmniRef remembers two settings: the last mode you chose (for example Back Judge or Basketball), so it opens in the same mode next time, and on Apple Watch whether workouts are recorded as indoor or outdoor. They are stored on your device only, separately on your iPhone and your Apple Watch. We have no access to them. Workouts are stored by Apple Health, as described in section 3.
Deleting the app removes it.
5. Network Connections
None. OmniRef works entirely offline and makes no network requests of any kind. The iPhone and Apple Watch apps do not exchange data with each other or with anyone else.
6. Purchases and Advertising
OmniRef is distributed through Apple's App Store, and any purchase is handled entirely by Apple. Cynfi LLC never sees your payment card, your billing address or your Apple Account details.
OmniRef contains no advertising.
7. Support Requests
If you contact us for support, we receive whatever you choose to put in your message, including your email address so we can reply. We use it to answer you and for nothing else.
8. Children's Privacy
OmniRef collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Cynfi LLC receives nothing about any user, so there is nothing for us to disclose, sell or retain about a child or anyone else.
9. Third-Party Services
OmniRef uses only Apple's own frameworks, built into iOS and watchOS, including HealthKit for workouts. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising networks, social media SDKs or other third-party libraries.
10. Changes to This Policy
If OmniRef's data practices change, this page will be updated before the change is released, and the privacy information shown on the App Store will be updated to match.
